AR Review: - Mike make agreed changes to IQ spec and post as an MS Word document. Done Opens for new items: 1) Time schedule Eckhard asked to verify the time zone difference between his location in Germany and the U.S. locations. Since both zones have shifted to standard time the meeting time of day is unchanged for all parties. 2) Example of checklist Do we have an real example of a checklist- excel document? There was a kit containing a blank checklist spreadsheet, a sample IBIS file, and a filled-in spreadsheet. It appears to be missing from the website. AR: Mike make sure iqsample.ibs and checklist are posted. 3) Format of checklist Do we expect the vendor to write the information in the ibisfile or do we expect an additional excel-sheet or both? We looked at IQ checklict files available on the website. The kit containing the IS specification, a blank checklist spreadsheet, and an instructional presentation is there. We did not find the example spreadsheet filled in with checks from iqsample.ibs on the website. Mike briefly walked through the process of filling in the spreadsheet and pasting results into the IBIS file as comments. In the process we found an ambiguity using the new level numbering system with the checklist. The overall IQ of the file is the lowest IQ level found looking through all sections: the header, components, and models. This means that header section checks would have to be assigned IQ4 if they pass. Otherwise it would not be possible to rate the file IQ4. We may have to find a new algorithm for aggregating individual checks. Discussion of correlation It was pointed out that we need to consult vendors to get their input on how they do correlation, before we explain how it should be done. The IBIS Accuracy Handbook has material on this, but how is Figure of Merit (FOM) calculated? No specifics were discussed. David said that HSPICE .measure statements can be used. This is Better than integrating Vdiff over aligned time points. Altium has a component library with a quality infrastructure. We could review correlation in parallel with review of the IQ spec. David and Roy are interested in this. AR: Roy contact Altium to see if they can join us or contribute AR: David send .measure example deck AR: David and Roy to update section 6 "Correlation" Do users demand good IBIS files from vendors? - Some vendors say they don't get much feedback. - Users SHOULD want good IBIS files for performance. - Some vendors pay more attention to quality and are likely to be the ones more interested in incorporating IQ into their files. - EMC engineers are reaching the point where simulation is required. David will not be able to attend all of the meeting Nov 14. Next meeting: 14 Nov 2006 11-12 AM EST (8-9 AM PST) Web access: http://meetingplace.cisco.com/join.asp?2105707 Meeting ended at 12:08 PM Eastern Time.
